"H" class engine option

GM has a new blown 1.4 engine.

This might be a good platform for an "H" class power plant.

"H" class is from 1.01 to 1.5 litre engines.

Gizzmo-A-Rama

To avoid confusion---The pic above is not a Gizmo, It's a Thing-a-ma-jig

Gizmo-Aholics BEWARE!

Wageneer Dan-O sent this link to me and hooked me into watching Gizzmo's for longer than I planned.

Still workin' the "bugs" from the warp drive of Bugzilla

EVEN THE BIG DOGS ARE HAVING SOME PROBLEMS TOO---

How LOW can you Go

The Subaru Boxer mill looks like it's hooked to a skate board, compared to Wrenchette Patty's Pick-um-up Truck. We have been piddlin' with this ole truck for awhile now. The stack of restro parts is reaching critical mass. It won't be long before we are going to get serious on the ole "stove bolt".

If you need some ole truck stuff, here are some good kats

Land Speed Racing Tires

As much as the Tires cost to run at Bonneville, the chances of having a spare on the car are pretty slim---as is the mythical Great Grand Daddy Von Chop who is nestled into an early ride.

Mickey Thompson has some new tires for the big boys

Good Year is what we have for the Speedwagen. They are made in the same mold that Front Runner drag tires are made in, but have different construction.

Speedwagen Header design tip

The diagram above represents the arangement of the exhaust ports in a Subaru head. As you can see the runner length of one cylinder, compaired to the adajacent cylinder is "longer". If you are designining a set of equal length tuned header, you nee to keep this difference in mind. What you want to be the same length is the distance from the exhaust valve seat to the end of the tube---not the tubes being the same length. This is a little tid-bit gleaned from Cobb tuning

This link above is a good elementry article on Header Design--check it out

(regarding the X-File document--Von Chop has contacts, and the Speedwgaen has been reclocated to area 51-A for some off world assistance---sssshhhh! don't tell)

Maxton Mile

Wrenchette Patty was checking out the "Peanut" at Maxton.

This Ghia body has a better CD than the standard Bug. We are trying to slick up the nose of the Speedwagen to overcome the difference in CD. We switched to a curved front window Super Beetle to get the aerodynamic advantage over the older style flat glass.

Here are some aero info links for you to check out.

How to fix your beater

The link above is a list of trouble shooting tips to help with your ailing beater problems.
Hope you find this helpful.
As you can see there is no telling what will line up at my garage door for some wrenchin'.
I've had two beaters lay down on me last week, one has limped back into service, but the ole Turbo Coupe is still resting comfortably in the driveway. Life would be better if everything had a magneto and a hand crank along with a manual pump for fuel pressure.
(speakin' of cranky--sounds like I need to stop and smell the go-jo)
